Roaming at the intersection of fiction and reality
These two landscapes are large watercolors done back in the 1970s on 14x20 cold press paper or so—I haven’t actually measured them and at this point don’t remember whether or not I trimmed them for composition or not. I found that I enjoyed the freedom and the way watercolors would flow and lovely 'accidents' would happen in the process. I found watercolor to be an expressive medium over which I had accept a certain lack of control. I enjoyed that aspect of our relationship. The bottom piece is a quick watercolor sketch done probably in the late 70s of Steve Gallant, one of the band members, when we had a band house in College Hill.
